WIP Wednesday

I finally have a project to post for WIP Wednesday!  Hopefully it’ll soon become a ‘Finish it up Friday’ project!

I discovered the Disappearing Nine Patch: ISpy Version on Obsessively Stitching in my search for fun ISpy quilt patterns.  Then I discovered Jenn Ski’s ‘Ten Little Things’, and thought that fabric would be perfect for this pattern.

The tutorial for the Disappearing Nine Patch is 4×4″ squares, and the charms I ordered were 5×5″, so I just modified slightly the quilt pattern and went to work.

I just have to sew the final pieces around the right and bottom edges, and decide if I’m going to add a border. It’s going to be a gift for a little someone special, and I can’t wait until it’s completely complete!

The lighting in my craft room isn’t fantastic at 8:30 at night, but you get the idea!

And look – I linked to my first Link Party for WIP Wednesday!

About msminnesota

I'm a wife, mom of two (one blue, one pink), and I work full time. Our family loves to camp, and we're often on mini adventures during the summer. My fall/winter/spring/rainy day hobby is quilting. I started about 10 years ago, then put everything away when The Blue One was born. A few years ago a good friend decided to take up this 'hobby' and I've been back at it ever since. She's my partner in crime (A.K.A. 'the enabler'). I have no aspirations of becoming a quilt designer - I'm just not that good at geometry (I rely on my math major/computer programmer husband to help with piecing backs at times!). This little blog is my way of chronicling my quilting adventures. Occasionally I post about non-quilting things as well. Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to say HI! IG: wannabequilter

Wow, your I-Spy quilt looks amazing, this is something that I really want to do some day. I’m sure it’ll make a great present.

Thanks Sarah! It came together so quickly because I used charm packs. I think that’s the way to go – so much less cutting!
I did all of the blocks (56) on Sunday and laid them out. Monday & Tuesday nights I sewed them together. It came together so fast!

I want to hear from you...
