It’s Here! It’s Here!!

My recent FQS purchase, that is!

It’s Reunion by Sweetwater, and I’m hoping that eventually it turns into the Inside Out pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew.  I’m doing the ‘Plus’ version of the quilt for this fabric.  I’m pretty sure that as soon as Sweetwater’s ‘Lucy’s Crab Shack’ comes out I’ll be doing it in the Cluck Cluck Sew ‘Inside Out’ pattern.  I’m SO anxious to start this quilt…BUT…..there are 2-3 in the ‘queue’ in front of it.  I need to get to work on the iSpy quilts for Blue and Pink for the camper before I do anything else.

One minor thing that could hinder progress on the Plus Quilt – while I was reading the pattern tonight, the number 588 jumped out at me.  588.  That’s how many 2.5×2.5″ squares of neutral I’m going to need for the twin-sized quilt.  That’s a lot of dang squares.  Cutting is my least favorite part of this whole process!

I’m doing the back in chartreuse – I hope it looks fantastic! The red jacks are the binding fabric.

I haven’t been able to get started on those iSpy quilts yet.  My craft room still looks exactly the same as it did in my last post.  Maybe I should hop off the interwebs and get crack-a-lackin’ on cutting the 5″ & 6″ strips of white so I can get sewing!  My new Olfa rotary cutter and extra blades arrived via Amazon’s slowest delivery method possible late last week.

About msminnesota

I'm a wife, mom of two (one blue, one pink), and I work full time. Our family loves to camp, and we're often on mini adventures during the summer. My fall/winter/spring/rainy day hobby is quilting. I started about 10 years ago, then put everything away when The Blue One was born. A few years ago a good friend decided to take up this 'hobby' and I've been back at it ever since. She's my partner in crime (A.K.A. 'the enabler'). I have no aspirations of becoming a quilt designer - I'm just not that good at geometry (I rely on my math major/computer programmer husband to help with piecing backs at times!). This little blog is my way of chronicling my quilting adventures. Occasionally I post about non-quilting things as well. Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to say HI! IG: wannabequilter
