This little gem was (P)inspired by Elena at Modern Olivia from one of her recent blog posts that she linked up to Lee’s WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.
I haven’t done any embroidery for several years, so I went to Hobby Lobby to pick up a couple of tea towels and some inkjet transfer paper. I already had everything else in my craft stash that I needed. I was able to stitch almost all of it while the kids & I watched a movie on Saturday night. I think I’ll make another one to incorporate into a mug rug for myself soon (once I get Bunny back). I think I’ll use a lighter brown on the cup for the next one, but keep the same green, what do you think? The embroidery pattern is courtesy of Mollie at Wild Olive. She’s very talented – go check her out!
Speaking of Bunny, the tech at the quilt shop fixed the feed dogs, now she’s getting a little TLC by way of cleaning and oiling. Shouldn’t bee too long now and I’ll have her back. Then I can whip out that mug rug. Oh, wait…I don’t have the fabric that I want to use for it yet…maybe I need to go shopping!
No quilt WIPs this week because Bunny’s on the mend, but I’ll link up my cup o’ Joe to Lee’s WIP Wednesday!
Wow! Where have I been? You’re coffee embroidery looks fabulous and so do your mug rugs? I have yet to decide how to finish mine. I’m glad that I was able to help you out with the pattern 🙂
Thanks for stopping by! I’m in love with these little coffee cups, can you tell? I did a tea towel, too!
I love that little coffee embroidery on your mug rug! Too cute!! Embroidery really is my new found love and I think it adds so much pizzaz to sewn projects.
Thanks Danie! I had fun with that little coffee cup. I haven’t done any actual embroidery since high school home ec classs! I was impressed I still knew how to do French Knots!
