I’ve been neglecting the blog a bit lately, but I’m back!

While I was gone, I was nominated twice for The Liebster Award – once by Maribeth at Simply Delighting and then again by Connie at Basildonkitchens.  I really appreciate their nominations.

The Liebster award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 300 followers.  What is a Liebster?  The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

My 11 Facts:
1 – Growing up, I lived in 4 different states in 4 years, and my dad wasn’t in the military!
2 – I recently got my first tattoo and I’m already planning my 2nd one.
3 – I’m a big Kenny Chesney fan.  This year I am attending 2 concerts – one in my home state of MN, and one in Vegas, Baby!
4 – I’m the youngest of 2. My big brother is 3 years older and lives in TX (one of the 4 states from #1).
5 – I’ve been married for over 15 years to my fantastic hubby.  Together we have The Blue One (9.5) and The Pink One (4.25) and a couple of 4-legged family members.
6 – During the short MN summer months, we like to camp – we have a 30′ travel trailer in which to do so.
7 – In the winter months when I’m not hanging out with my family or working on a quilt project, I like to be snuggled under my electric blanket!
8 – I like wine.  All kinds of wine.  I (red) wine with neighborhood friends on Sunday evenings when I can, and I (white) wine with my friend Gret after we long-arm quilt together.
9 – After fabric, the next thing I spend waaay too much money on is coffee.  Starbucks coffee.  Yup, I’m one of those!
10 – I have a slight crush on Matt Nathanson.
11 – I didn’t think I’d be able to come up with 11 things to tell!

MY 11 Answers (Since I was nominated by 2, I’m alternating questions from both nominators!)

Dew, Jules, Jewl, Judy, Julie Bird, JuJu (my personal favorite)

2 – How did you come up with your name?
My blog name is because even though I’ve made several quilts, I’m still a wanna be.  I don’t feel like I’m all that great at it, and I still swear a lot while cutting and stitching!  Maybe someday I’ll be able to stop swearing at least!

3 – What inspires you?
People inspire me.  My kids, some friends.

4 – What is your happiest memory from childhood?
Summer Food with the D’s.  Mr. & Mrs. D would make chicken strips and french fries and the neighbor kids would feast on them for a late dinner.  Good times!

5 – Your guilty pleasure?
I have a few…sewing, Starbucks, Kenny Chesney concerts, certain reality tv shows.

6 – What other crafts or hobbies to you participate in?
Does camping count?  I used to scrapbook and have hundreds of dollars worth of equipment and supplies in cabinets.  I’d just rather sew right now!

7 – One thing you can’t live without?
After my family, it’s music.

8 – What is your ideal way to spend a weekend?
Hanging around the house with the family (winter) or camping with them (summer).

9 – Favorite reality show?
I only watch a couple now – Bachelor/Bachelorette and Biggest Loser.  Hard to pick a favorite!

10 – Where would you go on your dream vacation?
How long is this dream vacation?  There are lots of places I’d like to go – Ireland, Scotland, Greece, Australia, New Zealand.  Have a few friends to visit along the way!

11 –  Name of a song that when you hear it you turn it up and dance around like crazy, singing at the top of your lungs.
Wow, that’s a tough one because it can totally change depending on my mood.  I’ll have to get back to you on that one!
