Yes, I’m excited! So darn excited! I bought my first-ever FQ bundle, and it’s Glamping by Mary Jane Butters. I’ve been eyeing this up for a while, and with a FQS.com 20% off coupon about to expire, it was time to pull the trigger and order it.
I found a fantastic pattern to use – Megabits by Swirly Girls Design. I chose it because it has great big blocks so you’ll really be able to see the prints in this fabric. Everything is pressed and I have about 6-8 of the FQs cut.
One thing I hate doing is cutting. Here’s a picture of each cut-out FQ. I’ve taped the cutting instructions to the wall just above my cutting mat so they’re right at eye-level. Smart, eh?
I always get a little antsy in the cutting stage, so I grabbed 5 prints, cut them, and sewed them into the first block so I could see how they’ll look.
Woo Hoo! Isn’t it fantastic!?! Only about 20 more FQs to cut. Once they’re all cut the sewing-them-up part will go really quickly. Can’t wait!
And since it’s still Wednesday, I’m linking up to Lee @ Freshly Pieced’s WIP Wednesday. Head on over and see what some super talented ladies are up to this week!
Cute fabric. Cutting isn’t my favorite part either. It will be fun to see your progress.
Thanks!
Love the fabric. Cutting is my least favorite part about quilting too! Or maybe it’s ironing… I can’t decide 🙂 looking forward to seeing your progress with this quilt!
Oh yeah, ironing is bad, too!
Thanks for stopping by!
