I have a habit of forgetting to put my label on quilts while binding them. Then I don’t want to rip off the binding, add the label, and re-do, so those quilts remain label-less.
But last week I had a brilliant idea. Yes, it was brilliant! Even Gret agreed with me! After I made my bindings, I pinned labels to them so they’ll be at hand while I’m binding. Will this be a 100% fix? Only time will tell. For now, it’s a start.
You’re welcome!
Per usual, I’m linking up to Lee!

About msminnesota
I'm a wife, mom of two (one blue, one pink), and I work full time. Our family loves to camp, and we're often on mini adventures during the summer. My fall/winter/spring/rainy day hobby is quilting. I started about 10 years ago, then put everything away when The Blue One was born. A few years ago a good friend decided to take up this 'hobby' and I've been back at it ever since. She's my partner in crime (A.K.A. 'the enabler').
I have no aspirations of becoming a quilt designer - I'm just not that good at geometry (I rely on my math major/computer programmer husband to help with piecing backs at times!).
This little blog is my way of chronicling my quilting adventures. Occasionally I post about non-quilting things as well.
Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to say HI!

That really is a brilliant idea. I appreciate any suggestion that makes a job more efficient.
It was either this or stapling them to my hand… 🙂
Smart idea!
Thanks!
That’s a very clever idea.
Thank you! And thanks for stopping by!
Awesome idea! My stroke of binding brilliance was when I started wrapping the binding around toilet paper rolls so I could just hold the roll and spin it off; it was similarly revolutionary 🙂
That is a revolutionary idea! 🙂
Also, I saw this last week and promptly pinned it…

VERY Smart idea, I thought! But…I tend to pre-make my bindings and set them off to the side for quite a while – I don’t use them immediately. Wasn’t sure how I’d wind and get a little hole for the foot of the table for later. Will have to ponder that…
Fabulous idea. Let us know how it works out for you 😄
The tags made it on with both pink bindings! Here’s to hoping I can keep it up!
Great idea! Now to just remember to do it!
It helps to have them at hand!
I agree— brilliant!
🙂 Thanks!
I don’t label my quilts, but I will this year. Having them ready to go makes perfect sense. I’m totally stealing your idea 🙂
You should totally label your quilts. And feel free to steal this trick!
That’s a great idea!
Thanks!
I’ve been embroidering my labels, but doing so few that it didn’t matter about the extra time it took. I’ve hit some sort of quilt frenzy so far this year though, so this sounds like a really clever idea to me 🙂 thank you very much!!
No problem! Thank you for stopping by.
