I am working on a special project for summer…I have some pillowcases to make for some folks. And for now I’ll leave it at that. But I also decided to make some pillowcases for a couple of cute kids…
The Blue One’s – stars glow in the dark.
The Pink One’s – because she starts every story she ‘reads’ with Once Upon a Time
Here they are in action for movie night last weekend.
2 down, 6 to go. In addition to ones I’m making for a ‘special project’, I’m also making 2 to match my Project Linus donation quilt that will go with the quilt to a child in need. I was hoping to do these all at the quilt retreat I was at in February, but I pinned & sewed some of them wrong so I’m in ‘do over’ mode right now. Or, I will be once I actually touch them again! (Other more fun projects jumped ahead of fixing and re-doing these!)
Linking up to Sew, Love, Live , Crazy Mom Quilts , and Confessions of a Fabric Addict today!
Looks like the pillowcases will be well loved! Congrats on the finishes!
Thanks! 🙂
That’s funny – I thought it was only my daughter who starts every story with “Once Upon a Time”, even when we read an Eyewitness book on bugs – very cute though! Great that you are making projects for charity and kids in need. I really want to do that sometime soon – do you have a particularly favorite charity that involves giving quilts or other sewn projects to those in need? Great Finish!
Hi Britt!
I am donating to the local Project Linus chapter. They’ve got a website so you can see if there are any in your area: http://www.projectlinus.org/
If nothing close to you – check with a women’s shelter or children’s hospital.
Thanks for stopping by!
Great pillowcases! Nice to have something else than the generic store bought ones:) Thanks for sharing at TGIFF!
Thanks Marit, and thank you for stopping by.
Those will be well loved pillowcases. Thanks for sharing.
I hope so!
Beautiful job on the pillow cases. I really need to try and make some to go with some of the quilts I finish.
Thanks Izzy.
Love the pillowcase idea. Quick and well-loved by recipients. Very nice!
Thanks Megan.
