I’m still alive….I swear!
My last post was just before I left for a long weekend in Vegas with some high school friends. Two of us went to the Kenny Chesney concert and had an absolute BLAST! Here he is – looking right at me!
The last thing I was working on before I left for Vegas was my project for the Bloom Bloom Pow Quilt Along. It’s in exactly the same state now that it was then. I’ll get back to it at some point.
I did finish the Creeper Quilt in time for The Blue One’s 10th birthday party. I had a couple of weeks to spare even! I don’t have a great photo of it with great lighting, but here it is:
In use on the car ride home from the party:
I’m leaving Bloom Bloom Pow on the shelf for now because I really want to finish my Glamping quilt for our camper. I haven’t taken any new photos, but the top is sooooo close to being together. Well, the main part, that is. It has a bazillion 3×5 pieces for the border that I’m still sewing into pairs, then into fours, then into eights, then, well, you get it. It will be a bit before the inner border is done. I’ve decided to add an additional border as well. Here are the last photos of it that I took:
I’m already looking ahead to the next project….after I finish Glamping, that is. I just ordered two Jelly Rolls of Architextures by Carolyn Friedlander and I’m already all excited to start it. I don’t know what rock I was living under, but I missed it when it came out. I think it’s pretty fantastic fabric and can’t wait for it to arrive! I hope I do it justice in the quilt I’m planning for it!
So that catches you all up on the last six or so weeks. I am hoping to blogging more actively, but that all depends on the status of my projects through the summer. We shall see..
I’ll be linking up with Freshly Pieced’s WIP Wednesday again. Check out what others are working on these days…
Oh my gosh, the creeper quilt is amazing! My 2 minecraft junkies would go crazy for it!
Thanks! And it was so quick and easy that I pulled it together in no time (in little bits of time after he went to bed). I used 6″ squares. Easy Peasy!
That creeper quilt looks very comfortable 🙂
It is! It has a minky back, so that helps! 🙂 He uses it more as a pillow than to actually cover up with, but at least he uses it!
I love Architextures! And isn’t it the best to see the kids snuggle with a beautiful homemade quilt? I love love love the fairy wings.
Yes, I’m so glad when people use the quilts I give them!
Wonderful work. Can’t wait to see the finished ‘Glamping’ quilt. …and I so love you helper. She looks so cute in her wings! 🙂
Aww, thanks. Sometimes I like my helper, too! 🙂
Where can I get a quilting fairy?
🙂
