Back in the Saddle, er, Sewing Chair

It’s been a couple of months since I last sat down to sew, and even longer since I last blogged.  Because we love to camp, I don’t get the chance to sew much during the summer.  Now that it’s fall, and I’m back in the saddle.

Gret & I have a date set to long arm on Sept 28, so I got to work today putting the piano key border on my Glamping top and getting the back pieced.  This is my biggest quilt to date – it’s 80×90.  I bet it’s going to be a fun one to bind!  (Can you hear the sarcasm?)

Here’s the top laying on top of my king-sized comforter:

I struggle as it is getting good pictures of my projects – add to that the fact that this one is a lot bigger than any quilt I’ve done before!

I’m feeling pretty good about my first day back in the saddle.  I also trimmed the extra batting & backing off of a baby quilt that I need to get the binding on and presented to the baby before he’s not a baby any more!

About msminnesota

I'm a wife, mom of two (one blue, one pink), and I work full time. Our family loves to camp, and we're often on mini adventures during the summer. My fall/winter/spring/rainy day hobby is quilting. I started about 10 years ago, then put everything away when The Blue One was born. A few years ago a good friend decided to take up this 'hobby' and I've been back at it ever since. She's my partner in crime (A.K.A. 'the enabler'). I have no aspirations of becoming a quilt designer - I'm just not that good at geometry (I rely on my math major/computer programmer husband to help with piecing backs at times!). This little blog is my way of chronicling my quilting adventures. Occasionally I post about non-quilting things as well. Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to say HI! IG: wannabequilter

Wow I love that quilt. I’m glad to see the size fits nicely on your king sized bed. I’m making one a bit bigger for Christmas and was thinking it might not fit. Have fun sewing again.
