Saturday I am long-arming the biggest quilt I’ve made to date – it’s an 80×90 beauty made of Glamping FQs. The top turned out great – I can’t wait until it’s quilted!
Today I made the binding – lots and lots of it! This is the biggest binding roll I’ve ever made! I’m NOT looking forward to binding it, though!

I’m slightly impressed with myself – this is 2 posts in 2 weeks for me! Hopefully this is a sign that now that summer has come to a close I’ll be able to work on projects and keep on blogging about them for the next 2-3 seasons. We shall see…
I’m linking up to Lee @ Freshly Pieced today. Have a great week, everyone!

About msminnesota
I'm a wife, mom of two (one blue, one pink), and I work full time. Our family loves to camp, and we're often on mini adventures during the summer. My fall/winter/spring/rainy day hobby is quilting. I started about 10 years ago, then put everything away when The Blue One was born. A few years ago a good friend decided to take up this 'hobby' and I've been back at it ever since. She's my partner in crime (A.K.A. 'the enabler').
I have no aspirations of becoming a quilt designer - I'm just not that good at geometry (I rely on my math major/computer programmer husband to help with piecing backs at times!).
This little blog is my way of chronicling my quilting adventures. Occasionally I post about non-quilting things as well.
Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to say HI!

Love your binding fabric and yes that is a big roll… good luck on the quilting!
I’ll need the luck when I start binding this! And thank you for stopping by!
I love the binding roll…that is a lot of binding!
Yes….yes, it is! 🙂
Yes that is one big roll of binding! … I’m working on a binding blister too at the moment – ouch!
Oh ouch! That’s not fun!
HOLY MOLY! That’s a lot of binding! But for a quilt that size, I guess you’ll need every inch. Woah.
I know…when I was pressing it in half, I kept wondering when I was going to come to the end….it just kept coming! There are over 350″!
What a nice role of binding! Mine only get rolled if they are going into a box until used for some future project (usually just left overs from other quilts). I just move a pile of binding around most of the time. 🙂 Hopefully it goes faster than you expect!
Here’s to hoping! 🙂
It looks so pretty rolled up. Never thought of rolling it up. I have some fabric set aside to be binding for specific quilts made. A roll would help to make sue I don’t use it for something else.
I got the brilliant idea to roll them up several months ago…and I pin my label on them so I don’t forget to sew it on! Here’s my stroke of genius… https://wannabequilter.com/2013/03/20/sometimes-i-get-a-good-idea/
