Not a hostile one, but a take over nonetheless!
On Sunday I took over the bar in the family room to bind the Glamping quilt. It’s a huge thing, and I simply needed the space. (And I wanted to watch the football game on the tv, and catch up with my DVR’d shows…)
If you check out the back bar area, you’ll see that I’ve got piles of fabric there as well….this takeover has been coming for some time!
The thing about the bar though – the counter top is higher than my normal sewing counter, and in order for me not to be 1/2 hanging off of the stool to drive the machine, I had to put the pedal on a case of beer bottles. I almost took a picture of that…maybe I should have!
Here it is – all finished an on my bed (not it’s permanent home).
Red Gingham for the back, and an aqua border finish it out. I’m very pleased with the way this turned out. And I’m happy that I finally get to enjoy it!
I quilted it using Deb Geissler’s Daisy Garden 2 pantograph. I LOVE it – it was perfect for this quilt. I used an aqua blue thread on top, and white in the bobbin.
Wow!! The quilting you did is amazing and really adds to the quilt! So impressed. I def want to quilt with you and Gretchen someday 🙂
Thanks Michelle! This was a fun one, and one I was looking forward to for a while.
I love this – the quilting is perfect for the design too!
