I joined the Sweetwater Label Crew just in the nick of time to get their October pattern and labels. It’s a great table runner that guests can sign. I’m not using this just for Thanksgiving – I’ll be having all of our family members and friends sign it as they come to visit.
I put the top of it together last night in under an hour. Here it is just after I finished it, complete with my ever-present box of Gobstoppers (don’t ask).
I added the labels, quilted it, and bound it this morning. I don’t know what my problem was, but I had a hard time with this binding for some reason. My machine was acting up and my bobbin thread was not cooperating AT ALL. There was such a mess on the back that I considered cutting the binding off and starting over. (Not ripping it off….cutting it off.) But I powered through and finished.
I had high hopes for other Sweetwater projects today as well (Boo Crew mug rug and possibly Boo Crew Halloween Treat Bags), but I didn’t quite make it that far. I did, however, manage to make another set of Candy Corn bunting, this time much smaller than the last one I made, which poses a bit of a pressing hazard! I’m not great about pressing 1″ strips. The bunting will say ‘Trick or Treat’ when finished. No pictures of it just yet.
It’s back to work for me tomorrow, sadly. I would much rather stay home and work on my numerous WIPs! Today I decided I wanted to do a Halloween table runner for a friend that’s visiting soon, but I only got as far as pulling fabric…didn’t actually DO anything with that fabric. That’s tomorrow night’s project, I guess!
I’m a member of Label Crew too 🙂 Your table runner looks great and you’ll have a great project for everyone to sign and remember their visit with you.
