The Jolly Jabber

I made the Thanksgiving edition of The Jolly Jabber’s Customer Project Roundup! My Glamping quilt is project #4 in their list.   My Bungle Jungle quilt was listed back in September 2012 as well.  I’ve got another project in progress with fabric I also bought from FQS – it’s Sweetwater’s Noteworthy.  I’ve already made a wallhanging for my office, drawstring bags, and now I’ve finally cut up my jelly roll.  Things are moving pretty quickly and I am pretty sure I’ll have a finished top tomorrow night.  That’s great timing since I’ve got a date with the long arm on December 15 – I think this one is next to be listed in my ‘finished’ list.

Seems a little sad to have a post with no pictures, so here they are…
Auditioning solid colors for my next project – a chevron quilt using Legacy by Angela Walters.  I’ve got ten 1/2 yard cuts and needed to find a coordinating solid for every-other row.  My initial thought on this was to use grey for my solid rows, so that’s where I started.

Then I decided to see how a yellow would look.  Nope, I wasn’t digging it.

Then I moved on to blues.  There are so dang many blues on this Moda color card!  I couldn’t find a blue-blue that I liked, so it was on to another option.

I finally decided on Caribbean (second one).  The photo doesn’t do it justice, but it looks good with all the prints I’m using.

I am using a dark grey on the back, and I think the recipient will really like it.  I ordered the solids for this project along with a bolt of white (that was a big step for me, let me tell you!) with the Black Friday Sale that Fat Quarter Shop had this weekend.  WooHoo for fabric on sale!

About msminnesota

I'm a wife, mom of two (one blue, one pink), and I work full time. Our family loves to camp, and we're often on mini adventures during the summer. My fall/winter/spring/rainy day hobby is quilting. I started about 10 years ago, then put everything away when The Blue One was born. A few years ago a good friend decided to take up this 'hobby' and I've been back at it ever since. She's my partner in crime (A.K.A. 'the enabler'). I have no aspirations of becoming a quilt designer - I'm just not that good at geometry (I rely on my math major/computer programmer husband to help with piecing backs at times!). This little blog is my way of chronicling my quilting adventures. Occasionally I post about non-quilting things as well. Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to say HI! IG: wannabequilter
