Gret twisted my arm (not really) into joining the Gen X Quilters Vice Versa BOM and I’m officially off and running.
My backing fabric arrived from FQS yesterday, so off I went to my LQS to get my solids to match.
This is the first BOM I’ve joined, so I’m looking forward to that. I’m also looking forward to learning some new skills. Let’s be honest – all you’ve ever seen from me here are squares and rectangles. I’ve been pretty good at avoiding triangles up to this point. But, it’s time to get a little out of my comfort zone and pull up my big girl panties and go for it…..and so I did!
And without further ado – here are the January A & B blocks…
We get the February instructions on Friday – the first day of the quilt retreat. I think I’ll take along my BOM fabrics and I may try to whip out the Feb blocks right away…we’ll see how that goes.
Speaking of the quilt retreat, I’m headed back to my sewing space to press & cut and get things ready for it. I’m going to go ahead and link up to Sunday Stash since I’ll be working through fabrics that I’ve had stashed for quite some time!
Have a great week!
Pretty stripes and solids! I’m most comfortable with squares and rectangles, too, but There’s so much you can do with triangles.
Thanks! I’m excited to put them together.
Thanks for stopping by!
Those holiday prints look familiar! I’ve got ’em in flannel… the form of pj’s now!
I bet they’re super cute as PJs!
Can’t wait to see the fun you’ll have at the retreat!!!
Me too! 😉
Those blocks are great – I really like B with that color into the center point – striking!
Thank you, Sarah!
Those triangle blocks are fabulous. Lovely fabrics you are planning to take to retreat, have a wonderful time.
I’m hoping to have a fairly productive retreat this time around. Thanks for stopping by!
Love your BOMs, they look great! Good thing somebody twisted your arm into it!
I’m glad she did, too!
Love your fabric choices for Vise Versa. I’m participating too–can’t wait till the next block is posted!
Your blocks are looking great! I really like how you pulled the colors from your backing fabric.
Thanks! It was my friend Gretchen’s idea to pick the backing first. Made complete sense to me!
