I’m back in the saddle (stool) again. I turned Alice on today for the first time in well over a week (if you don’t count our ‘getting to know you’ session at the quilt shop). I had spent some time on a couple of nights cutting my June/July/August Vice Versa BOM so that when I was ready, I could just sit down and sew, and that’s what I did tonight. Tonight I was able to get my June block started – the HSTs and Flying Geese are together, although I wasn’t able to sew the two blocks together completely.
Here’s how I left them:

Hopefully I’ll get them sewn into completed blocks yet this week.
Speaking of June running into September – what happened to our summer? Here in the North Star State, we had a few really great days, although not necessarily strung together, and now it’s fall. I think summer missed us completely!

I'm a wife, mom of two (one blue, one pink), and I work full time. Our family loves to camp, and we're often on mini adventures during the summer. My fall/winter/spring/rainy day hobby is quilting. I started about 10 years ago, then put everything away when The Blue One was born. A few years ago a good friend decided to take up this 'hobby' and I've been back at it ever since. She's my partner in crime (A.K.A. 'the enabler').
I have no aspirations of becoming a quilt designer - I'm just not that good at geometry (I rely on my math major/computer programmer husband to help with piecing backs at times!).
This little blog is my way of chronicling my quilting adventures. Occasionally I post about non-quilting things as well.
Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to say HI!

I love how the look of these blocks changes so drastically by flipping the negative space around – brilliant!
This has been a fun quilt to build, for that very reason.
Wow, the blocks look so different.
I agree. Sometimes I have a hard time visualizing how something will look if I ‘flipped’ it, but this really helps with that!
Love the solids!
Thanks! I picked my backing first, and matched the solids to that. I’m very happy with the colors of the solids.
those blocks looks great! I think you had an English summer, that’s what our summers are like every single year!
I need much more of a summer than that! 🙂
