Bee Block Brights

Brights

I hit up the LQS near my mother-in-law’s house on Saturday to see if they had some brights for my December Promises block at do. Good Stitches.

Diane is the leader this month, and here’s what we’re going for:
Promise Dec '14

I’m realizing now that it was rather premature of me to join a bee as I don’t have nearly as many scraps in my stash as one needs to participate monthly.  As a result, I’m shopping every month for the blocks, which isn’t the point, but I’m shopping and participating anyway!

I’ve got some grey/white low volume prints on the way to use for the blocks.

About msminnesota

I'm a wife, mom of two (one blue, one pink), and I work full time. Our family loves to camp, and we're often on mini adventures during the summer. My fall/winter/spring/rainy day hobby is quilting. I started about 10 years ago, then put everything away when The Blue One was born. A few years ago a good friend decided to take up this 'hobby' and I've been back at it ever since. She's my partner in crime (A.K.A. 'the enabler'). I have no aspirations of becoming a quilt designer - I'm just not that good at geometry (I rely on my math major/computer programmer husband to help with piecing backs at times!). This little blog is my way of chronicling my quilting adventures. Occasionally I post about non-quilting things as well. Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to say HI! IG: wannabequilter

Really love those brights! Trust me, even if you have scraps you will find that there will always be a reason to go to your LQS. I had a block one time that needed 5 shades of purple. I didn’t have 5 shades of any one color and had to run out to get some!

  2. Oh you’ll have enough scraps before you know it, and then they’ll be overflowing! Enjoy the minimalism while you can, and until then you’ve got some fabric shopping to do! I can think of much worse things! 😉

I have scraps, just *different* scraps. I’ve accumulated lots of fabric, but like most of us, I haven’t cut into most of it yet, or am saving it for a certain project. 🙂

Your blocks are so pretty. I too have that problem whenever I join bees.

  5. I have the same problem! Sometimes my blocks are late because it takes half a month to order and receive my fabrics in the mail! But I love participating so much, that I feel like it’s worth it. . . and besides, buying fabric is so much fun!

I want to hear from you...
