Subtitle: My Love/Hate Relationship With Sashing
It’s retreat weekend and I had big plans for the weekend, and so far I’m on track!
It’s 1am and I’m DONE for the day, as you can well imagine. The photos are not spectacular by any means, but I completed a top! I arrived with the fabric for it all cut (except some of the sashing) and got right to work.
There are four different block versions in the quilt, here is ‘A’:
There was a fair amount of ripping and I’m blaming the sashing. I gotta admit – I love how it looks, but I hate adding it to my quilts!
This quilt was intended for The Pink One, but I think I’m going to keep it for myself. Ok, who am I kidding? Of course she’s going to claim it as her own. But maybe she’ll let me use it from time to time!

Because I haven’t gone to sleep yet, it’s still Friday to me, so I’m linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts – Finish it Friday.
PS – Have I mentioned that I’m supposed to be in Puerto Rico right this very second, but it was retreat weekend and I had already signed up and paid, so I chose to stay in Minnesota instead? Here’s yet another example of me not making the best decisions! But I am having a good time at retreat and I’ve got this great finish (so far), so I’m OK with this crazy decision to stay home!
I love this quilt! I totally agree about sashing–it looks great in the finished quilt but I don’t like to fiddle with it. But in the end, it’s always worth it!
As if adding it around the outsides isn’t bad enough, I forgot to add it to about 6-9 of the blocks as I was sewing…so had to rip and re-do. But I persevered!
I love the quilt. I love the pattern. Love the fabric. Love your blog. Keep it up Momma!
Awwww, thanks! I love this comment!!
