Truckin’ Along

I quilted the Trucks quilt on Saturday, but I cannot bring myself to lay it out and cut off all the excess.  It’s 90×90 so you’ll understand why! It may be a weekend project.

It looks like such a mess!

I chose this awesome turquoise thread for the quilting and I’m SO happy I did!  At first I was concerned that it would overpower the pink and red fabric but it compliments it perfectly.

The binding is made and patiently waiting for me to put it on.  That’s going to be a chore, and I’m not looking forward to it!

On a side note, my husband just said to me, ‘I did the taxes last week and knocked that off of my to-do list.  What can you knock off of your list?  And quilt projects DON’T count!’

I have no answer for him!

Linking up to Lee @ Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday.

About msminnesota

I'm a wife, mom of two (one blue, one pink), and I work full time. Our family loves to camp, and we're often on mini adventures during the summer. My fall/winter/spring/rainy day hobby is quilting. I started about 10 years ago, then put everything away when The Blue One was born. A few years ago a good friend decided to take up this 'hobby' and I've been back at it ever since. She's my partner in crime (A.K.A. 'the enabler'). I have no aspirations of becoming a quilt designer - I'm just not that good at geometry (I rely on my math major/computer programmer husband to help with piecing backs at times!). This little blog is my way of chronicling my quilting adventures. Occasionally I post about non-quilting things as well. Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to say HI! IG: wannabequilter

I have often seen this line of fabric and wish I had made something out of it. Hope to see pictures when it is all done. Looks great already.

I had been eyeing this fabric up for some time, and then walked into a shop and they had almost every fat quarter so I had to snap it up! Thanks for stopping by, Patti!

I love the thread choice! Good luck squaring this behemoth up. I always dread cutting my large quilts, so I completely sympathize.

The thread colour and the quilting pattern look very much in-keeping with the quilt. I always seem to have a nearly finished quilt dumped on a chair – say it’s ‘homely’ not a mess!

I want to hear from you...
